Family Feud was always one of my most favorite game shows growing up. Even as a young child, I would watch reruns of the very first episodes, hosted by Richard Dawson. So naturally, as I was creating this year’s Christmas game bundle, I had to include Christmas Feud in it.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t intend to put these Christmas Feud questions and answers online, but I got a few requests from surveyors and I also came across this really cool PowerPoint Family Feud style game. So, I figured if someone wanted to create an interactive Christmas Feud game for their holiday party then they could put it together, using the questions and answers below.

If you do decide to use a PowerPoint game, plan to spend at least an hour getting everything set up. There are also some nice templates that you can find on Etsy.

PowerPoint download from Youth Downloads

How to Play Christmas Feud

Depending on how you play Christmas Feud, it can either be played traditionally or altered to fit your party. If you have never played or seen Family Feud before, you can check out an episode here.

Traditional Feud

If you want to play the traditional way, included with buzzers and timers, you will want to gather the following items:

Buzzers

PowerPoint Feud game or large board/dry erase board

Stop watch for timer

A way to keep score for each team

Family Feud Christmas questions

Answer key for host

To Play:

First you will split your party into two teams and assign a game host (this person will be responsible for reading the questions). The goal for each team is to reach 300 points as the team to reach 300 points first, wins the game.

To get the game started, one person from each team will approach their buzzers. The host will read the question and when a player thinks they know an answer that will be on the board, they buzz in. The first player to buzz in gets a chance at the board first.

Note: Should the player that buzzed in interrupt the host, while they are still reading the question, the host immediately stops reading the question. The player must answer the question, based on the information they have. The host will only re-read the question if the other team gets a shot at the board.

PowerPoint download from Youth Downloads

If the player says an answer that is in the number one spot on the board, they gain control of the board. Should the player say an answer that is either not on the board or is not in the number one spot, the other player gets a shot at the board.

The player with the answer in the number one spot or that said the answer with the higher point value tells the host if their team is going to play (to find the remaining answers) or pass to the other team.

Gaining Control of the Board

If the player and their team chooses to play, their team gains control of the board. The host will approach the remaining team members one-by-one with the same question. Each player will get a shot to name answers on the scoreboard.

Should a player say an answer that is not on the scoreboard, their team gets one strike “X”. Once the team gets three strikes, the team not in play gets one chance to come up with a remaining answer on the scoreboard.

If the control gets passed to the other team and the team comes up with an answer on the board, they win all the points for that round (minus the points for their answer). If the answer is not on the board, the other team (that was initially in control of the board) wins all of the points for that round. Points are only given for answers that were uncovered.

Calculating Points

Currently points are calculated as follows:

Round 1: Points are calculated at face value. For example, if the answer has a point value of 50 points, the total for that answer is 50 points.

Round 2: Points are calculated at face value just as round 1.

Round 3: Points are doubled. An answer with a value of 50 points, would be doubled to 100 points.

Round 4: Points are tripled. An answer with a value of 50 points, would be tripled to 150 points.

Round 5: This is a sudden death round, only used if neither team reaches 300 points by the end of round 4. A player from each team will approach their buzzers, the player that buzzes in and/or gets the number one answer for the question, wins triple the points.

Fast Money Round

The team to reach 300 points first wins the game and advances to the fast money round. In the fast money round, the team selects two players to participate in fast money.

Team members will be separated from each other. Send one into another room where they can not hear the questions and answers being given.

The host will set the timer for 20 seconds and read five questions to the first player. Once player one has finished their round, points will be calculated at face value and player two will come out to play.

The host will set the timer for 25 seconds and read the same five questions to the second player. Should the second player say an answer that was already given, the host will ask them to give a new answer.

If between player one and player two the team reaches 200 points, they win the Fast Money round!

When using the PowerPoint shared above, you will notice that the Fast Money or “Lightning Round” is slightly different. And there are instructions included in the download that explain how it works.

PowerPoint download from Youth Downloads

Christmas Feud Printable

If you simply don’t have time to put together a game as elaborate as the one mentioned above, you can always use a printable.

In this case, each player will be given their own game board. The host will set a timer and the players will try to find the top three answers for each question.

Once the time is up, the host will read through the answers and the players will tally their totals up. The player(s) with the most points wins the game.

If the printable includes a fast money round, the host will play this round, just as they did the main round. The player(s) with the most points wins the game!

Family Feud Christmas Questions and Answers

I found this wonderful website, Diva Girl Parties and Stuff, that had some good Christmas survey questions. So combining some questions from her website along with some others, I created the survey below and asked 100 people to complete it.
